I started up my Etsy store in Feb 2007. I had made some stitchmarkers for myself to use for sock-knitting as I found the rings on the ones I had bought much too big for my tiny sock needles! A few friends then asked me to make some for them and encouraged me to sell them. Someone suggested Etsy, and although it is not nearly as well known as eBay I like the fact that it is a site dedicated to hand-made items (I'm not sure I like the fact that there are so many lovely things I want to buy!).
All the creatures are made using Fimo. I made the decision early on to use sterling silver findings for all my creations. This does increase the price a bit but I think it's worth it.
Stitchmarkers are available in 3 sizes:
- Small - fits up to 3.25mm needles (US3)
- Medium - fits up to 5.00mm needles (US8)
- Large - fits up to 7.00mm (US10.5)
Row / crochet markers can also be used as stitchmarkers on needles up to 3.5mm.
Earrings are the latest addition to my range - again all findings are sterling silver. They come in a small box and make great gifts!
