I've been wanting to try out some new ideas for shawl pins for ages but stuff gets in the way, you know? Anyway - I finally got round to getting some copper for practising my ideas with (have you seen the price of silver lately?!) and have been playing around with making an owl shape. This is only a trial run = it's not been properly finished and the soldering isn't my best effort because I was keen to see how it would turn out ;-) I'll do a bit more tidying tomorrow and probably stick it in the polisher for a while (I bought myself a cute little polisher recently so I can do everything at home now). It will look much nicer in silver. I do love copper but I've not yet found a way to disguise the silver solder and it shows too much for my liking (even if I use a minimum amount of solder). I want to test it a while as I'm not sure if the pin is a little short. We'll see! What do you think?
Please excuse the poor photo - it's pretty gloomy here now and I was too lazy to set up the photo properly.
