It's been quite a creative day here - mostly involving food! I think A is slightly worried about how many photos of food I've been taking today. This morning A made some bread. It was hard to resist eating it as soon as it came out the oven but we were good and both of these have gone into the freezer to eat another time.
I made pizza for dinner and damson clafoutis for afters which we had with some sweet cinnamon ice cream (also homemade - yay!). I think I should have used a larger dish or less batter as it was a tiny bit stodgy in the middle. Not bad though.
Are you hungry yet?!
Would you like ice cream with that?
I've finished quilting the squares for my quilt-as-you-go quilt (hmmm - too many quilts in that sentance!) and am working my way through them all, sewing in the ends. Such fun! Wonder if I can get it all sewn together and finished by next Monday? Here's my pile of squares - large pile with ends left to sew in :-/
I spent the day at a friend's last week having challenged her to persuade me that hand sewing isn't evil! I've always quite fancied doing some hand embroidery but mostly when I use a needle and thread I end up stabbing myself ALL THE TIME! Anyway, she patiently showed me the basics and we practised quite a few different stitches and she then sent me home with lots of thread and other goodies so I had no excuses. I cut out a couple of owls from the fabric I got at the Festival of Quilts and attached them to a piece of felt using bondaweb and then hand embroidered them. This is going to be the cover for a needle book. I must get on and sort out the inside. I really enjoyed doing these.
