Ages ago (hmmm, probably at least a couple of years!) I bought some 1" thick foam and some fabric with the intention of making some seat pads for our kitchen chairs. I did attempt to make one but it was a bit of a disaster and the project went in the 'naughty corner'! I decided it was time to have another go at it. After struggling to work out how to do the corners properly and failing miserably with my first attempt, I found an article which explained how to do it (this one: http://www.threadsmagazine.com/item/4322/sew-the-new-box-pillow).
We now have comfy cushions for our chairs :-)
Yesterday I made a start on a skirt. I drafted the pattern (I'm using instructions from the book 'Sew What Skirts') and cut out the main pieces. Then I decided I should use my overlocker to finish the raw edges. It's been a while since I used it so I had to get the instructions out and remind myself how to thread it up etc. An hour or so later, I had it working and got the tension set nicely. I'd forgotten just how fast it is mind you - scarey machine! I need to put the zip in and cut out the lining. Watch this space!
