Well, supposedly an apple a day keeps the Dr away. I've spent all day drawing one today and I still feel poorly :-( Guess you're meant to eat them ;-)
I've had a nasty cold for about a week now and I really have had enough of it but I think it's going to take a few more days to get rid of it. Seem to have a horrid cough now and my head is fuzzy too. Yuck!
I've decided to take part in 'Art Every Day Month' so, in between coughing, I really have spent almost all day drawing an apple using coloured pencils. Sorry - no photo yet because it's not quite finished and I'm not happy with how I've done the shadow so I want to do a bit more work on it tomorrow (probably going to totally mess it up but nevermind!). Yesterday we popped into Hobbycraft on our way to do our food shopping and I treated myself to a book, 'Ultimate Colored Pencil Guide' by Gary Greene. You can see some of his work here. Pretty amazing stuff. Not quite sure I'll ever have the patience, nevermind the skill, to do work like that. I'm going to try and work through some of the techniques demonstrated in the book and see if I can get the hang of using my coloured pencils!
I did a bit of sewing this morning too and have finished sewing together my quilt squares into rows. Still quite a lot of work to do as I have to hand-sew all the joining strips down on the front, then sew the rows together and then do the binding.
