We went up to the International Centre for Birds of Prey this evening for an 'Owl Evening'. The weather didn't look to promising on the drive up but we were really luck and it stayed dry enough for the owls to fly outside.
This cute chap met us in the shop
We had a tour of the owl aviaries by torchlight followed by a warming glass of mulled wine (I could have drank pints of it - it was very nice!) and a very tasty pork roll. Yum! We then went into the education centre to see some owls flying and finally, went outside to see some of them fly in the dark. I love the centre - all the birds are beautifully well cared for and it was a real treat to see some of the owls flying at night.
I did take my camera and got a few shots while we were walking round the aviaries. All taken at a ridiculously high ISO (6400) so they aren't great I'm afraid but I do I love the big owl shadows!
This next one is my favourite - contemplating supper!

Oh, those owl are gorgeous!
