A and I got up early today and drove down to the British Wildlife Centre to meet up with Helen and her Dad. Helen has been visiting the centre for a while and has taken some lovely photos there. We were quite lucky with the weather today - only a couple of short showers sent us into the cafe for a cuppa!
The centre is well worth a visit. You can get pretty close to lots of the animals (including water voles, if you are lucky and they come out to play!) and the enclosures have lots of good, natural looking backgrounds. It's not a particularly large place which I actually liked as there was plenty of time to go back and look at the animals again throughout the day. Can't say I'm super pleased with the photos I took today - I'll just have to go back another time and try again for some better shots!
The water vole enclousure is set up really nicely - the voles are pretty much at eye level and there's no fence between you and them. We saw quite a few not long after we arrived but when we went back in the afternoon they had all gone into hiding!

There is a red squirrel walk-through enclosure which is really fun. These little chaps don't sit still for long - they are really speedy! I didn't have much luck getting a decent photo of them this time.

Beautiful photos especially of the vole, pine martin? and my favourite is the red squirrel....
