Helen was working nearby at the weekend so she came to visit today and we went out in search of something to photograph. Not sure I made a great job of finding us lots of interesting things to photograph but nevermind - I think we had a nice day :-) I'm not overly impressed with my efforts so I've played around with some of the presets in lightroom on a lot of these in an attempt to make them a bit more interesting! I don't usually process my photos very much. Be sure to check out Helen's photos too.
We had decided to visit the tearoom at Buscot as we've often passed it on our way to the Cotswold Wildlife Park. Stupidly I didn't check the opening times and we arrived to discover that it is closed on Mondays :-(
We spent a while trying to capture the drips coming from this tap (Helen definitely got a better shot of this than me - hopefully she'll post her tap photo).
So, we carried on and ended up at Bourton in the Water. Very pretty place. It was really busy there today. We had some lunch and coffee...
and then wandered down to St Lawrence's Church for a look round.
I love stained glass windows and there were some impressive ones in this Church (one of the photos I haven't messed with much today!).
Helen was more interested in photographing the ceiling ;-)
We stopped off in Burford and had more coffee and some cake. Although my chocolate brownie was very tasty it wasn't particularly photogenic so I didn't bother taking a photo of it!
We popped into the Cotswold Woollen Weavers for a look round too. I liked these big bobbins.
and an old sock knitting machine
I wonder what weaving secrets are held in these old books?!
Our last stop of the day was the amazing Great Coxwell Barn which dates from the 13th Century. It's awesome! It's really hard to get a sense of just how massive it is from my photos (Helen sneakily took one with me in it - check her blog later to see if she's posted it!)
This place would make one hell of a barn conversion!
